COLLABORATING

NOTE: The information on this page represents a small sampling of content associated with this topic. This google search box will allow you to search within this site and the entire web.

DESCRIPTION

People collaborate for different purposes and the web supports this collaboration by bringing people together to share their opinions, expertise, interests etc. Some good reads on purposeful and inherent colloaboration The Wisdom of Crowds, by James Surowiecki, The Cluetrain Manifesto Christopher Locke, Smart Mobs, Howard Rheingold, and Small Pieces Loosely Joined, by David Weinberger. Web-based collaboration saves people time and dollars when used for meetings, presentations etc. A great alternative to travel when face-to-face contact is not essential.

Bill Moyers sits down with Mark Johnson, the producer of a remarkable documentary about the simple but transformative power of music: PLAYING FOR CHANGE: PEACE THROUGH MUSIC. The film brings together musicians from around the world — blues singers in a waterlogged New Orleans, chamber groups in Moscow, a South African choir — to collaborate on songs familiar and new, in the effort to foster a new, greater understanding of our commonality.

The following are samples of the plethora of tools which fit into the category of collaboration.
